Webdesign by Koliaza - August 2012
I am Koliaza, photographer based in Paris.
My story :
I truly started photography when entering highschool in 2007, shooting friends at first and moving on to schoolmates and then random strangers in the street. I had two exhibits but never wanted to take any photography class or professionnal studies, as I'd rather do my own experiments. Also, I followed my other passion, mathematics, and am now - after a strange cursus - studying at ENS Ulm. The work needed to get there forced me to spend less time on my photography, but I still managed to have an exhibit at the Verre a Pied, an artists' coffee shop at the bottom of Mouffetard Street where I live.
My pictures:
Depending on the serie, they might be shot outside or in my flat transformed into a studio. They always incorporate some element of portrait, but I am going into more and more abstract photography, leaving imagination do most of the work. I generally use a Canon 550D to do preliminary shootings to see if my models are any good (when I recruit in the street or on the campus of an art university). However, for the last two years, all of my real work has been done with webcams (Quickcam 5500 or HD-Pro C920) as I have a real "feeling" with this equipment. I take great liberty before shooting with lighting, accessories and effects, however my pictures are never photoshopped once taken, even for light cropping work. I have used photoshopped professionnally at some point but do no want to use it as part of my artistic research.
I am always seeking new models and open to meet artists to exchange ideas or do joing shootings so do not hesitate to contact me.
